    What’s Cervicitis?  Cervicitis is inflammation of the cervix that can affect almost half of all women at some time during their lives. What Causes Cervicitis? Causes include infections such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, and trichomoniasis. Infections with viruses such as herpes simplex virus (HSV) or human papillomavirus (HPV).
